Out land is growing wild again tucked away as it is in mountains and valleys hidden from view. Our forest is returning quite like it was years and years ago before
its trees were cut and hauled away, sawed into lumber,, to satisfy mans need for things
like attic stairs, and rocking chairs, like dance floors,
and chests-of-drawers, like railroad ties, and pigsties, like bridges,
barns and bungalows, and miles and miles, of fence post rows.
Civilization is a hungry thing consuming most, of what might have been and taking our trees, for even more for
toilet paper, shipping boxes and things galore like stationery, For-Sale signs, and engineering designs,
After decades of waiting, our forest is coming back,
a fairy kingdom of
Pine, Spruce, Fir , and Tamarack.
Wild life is creeping back too, feeding, breeding, and raising
their new: deer, raccoon, moose, bear, beaver, and goose,
and song birds by the score: goldfinch, sparrow,
red-start, robin and waxwing.
Hear the birds sing! * * * *
